**VIJAYAWADA, February 2, 2025** – Hundreds of swimmers from across India participated in the 25th annual Krishna River-crossing competition in Vijayawada on Sunday. Organized by the Aqua Devils Welfare Association, the event saw participants aged 10 to 80 compete in the 1.5 km swim from Durga Ghat to the Lotus food court.

Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao inaugurated the competition, commending the association for its 25-year legacy and expressing surprise at the number of elderly participants. Swimmers travelled from cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata to take part.

The Aqua Devils Association reportedly trained 300 individuals for a month, with approximately 180 participating in the competition. The association thanked the Police Department and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for ensuring the event’s smooth execution. Certificates will be awarded to participants within three days.
