**LOS ANGELES –** The LA Clippers have made a significant move to improve their financial flexibility ahead of the NBA trade deadline, trading forward P.J. Tucker, center Mo Bamba, a future second-round pick, and cash to the Utah Jazz for forward Drew Eubanks and guard Patty Mills. The trade, announced Saturday, drops the Clippers below the luxury tax threshold by approximately $4 million.
Tucker, who did not play for the Clippers this season after mutually agreeing to seek a new team in October, is on the final year of his contract. Bamba, a former lottery pick, averaged 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds this season. In return, the Clippers add Eubanks, a veteran forward averaging 5.8 points and 4.5 rebounds in Utah, and Mills, a 16-year NBA veteran currently averaging 4.4 points per game. Eubanks will be playing for his fifth NBA team. The move positions the Clippers for potential further moves before Thursday’s deadline.
