Kurnool, February 2, 2025 – The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for failing to secure adequate funds from the Union Budget for the state. Former Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy stated that Naidu’s positive assessment of the budget is misleading, given the comparatively larger allocations received by Bihar despite having fewer Lok Sabha seats.

Reddy highlighted the disparity, questioning why Bihar received significant investments in infrastructure, institutions, and projects while Andhra Pradesh, with its four ports, received no allocations for development. He argued that the state’s 16 MPs hold more sway with the current coalition government than during the BJP’s single-party rule (2019-2024), emphasizing the need for stronger lobbying for more projects and aid.

The YSRCP also criticized the government’s inaction on the Polavaram dam height issue and the stalled development of medical colleges. Reddy pointed out that the Centre’s focus on medical education could lead to a loss of medical seats due to the coalition government’s failure to continue the initiative started by former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to establish 17 medical colleges. He further claimed that the Union Budget reflects policies initially implemented by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, particularly in education, medical, and agriculture sectors, highlighting the TDP’s past opposition to these policies.
