Sun Feb 02 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Notre Dame Fighting Irish Aim for Back-to-Back ACC Wins Against Miami

**CORAL GABLES, FL –** Riding a three-game win streak, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-10, 4-5 ACC) look to continue their resurgence when they face the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, February 1st, at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2. A victory would mark several milestones for the Irish: a return to .500 in conference play, their first back-to-back ACC road wins since the 2021-22 season, and head coach Micah Shrewsberry’s first win against Miami.

The Irish’s recent success is largely attributed to the return of sophomore guard Blake Burton from a knee injury. After a 39-day absence, Burton has exploded onto the scene, scoring 20 or more points in five consecutive games – a feat unmatched by a Notre Dame player since Ben Hansbrough in 2011. His January average of 22.3 points per game ranked second in the ACC.

Burton’s exceptional performances aren’t the only reason for Notre Dame’s improved play. The team’s three-point shooting has been exceptional, leading the ACC with a 41.3% clip in conference games. This success is fueled by the contributions of several players, including Burton, whose three-point shooting percentage has significantly improved this season.

Other key contributors include Tae Davis, whose scoring average has jumped to 15.8 ppg, and Braeden Shrewsberry, who has also shown significant improvement in scoring and three-point shooting. Grad transfer Matt Allocco, meanwhile, is on pace to break program records for assist-to-turnover ratio and three-point percentage.

Despite their recent success, the Irish face a tough challenge against Miami, holding a losing record against the Hurricanes at the Watsco Center (6-8). The game promises to be a crucial test as Notre Dame aims to build on its momentum and solidify its position in the ACC standings.
