**MAYILADUTHURAI, February 1, 2025** – The third annual Mayiladuthurai Book Fair opened its doors on January 31st at Dharmapuram Adheenam Arts College. The fair, organized by the district administration, School Education Department, and the Directorate of Public Libraries, boasts 65 stalls from major publishing houses and a diverse program of 20 literary and cultural events.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister for Backward Classes Welfare Siva V. Meyyanathan, District Collector A. P. Mahabharathi, former Chief Secretary V. Irai Anbu, and local MLAs. Collector Mahabharathi highlighted the fair’s inclusion of exhibits showcasing government welfare schemes alongside books catering to competitive exams, general knowledge, and literature. The fair will also host a series of guest lectures, debates, plays, and student competitions throughout its run. The event is expected to attract a large number of visitors and contribute significantly to the cultural landscape of the region.
