**Ranchi, January 26, 2025** – Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar delivered a Republic Day address today emphasizing the state’s strides in development and its commitment to good governance. Speaking at Ranchi’s Morabadi Ground after unfurling the national flag, Governor Gangwar lauded the state’s progress towards a transparent and corruption-free administration.
He highlighted significant achievements across various sectors. In the fight against Naxalism, 248 Naxalites were arrested in 2024, with an additional 24 surrendering and nine killed in encounters. Furthermore, 154 organized criminals (including four terrorists) and 898 cybercriminals were apprehended.
The Governor underscored the importance of agriculture, noting that the state’s loan waiver scheme benefited 1.82 lakh farmers, totaling ₹403 crore. He also mentioned the launch of the Jharkhand State millet mission to address drought conditions. Efforts to curb illegal mineral transportation through vehicle tracking systems and promote green energy with the installation of 58 MW of rooftop solar power and a planned 600 MW floating solar power plant were also highlighted.
Social welfare initiatives were also emphasized, including the ‘Maiyan Samman’ scheme providing ₹2,500 monthly assistance to women aged 18-50.
Governor Gangwar concluded by expressing confidence in Jharkhand’s continued progress, aiming to establish it as a prosperous state (“Hamar Sona Jharkhand”). He urged all elected representatives to uphold the Constitution and fulfill their duties accordingly.
