**Antioch, CA** – The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday that it will not file charges against Alicia Coleman-Clark, the mother of Marshall Curtis Jones, the man accused of killing Alexis Gabe. Gabe, who disappeared in January 2022, was later declared a homicide victim, with Jones identified as the suspect. Jones was subsequently killed by law enforcement in Washington state during an attempted arrest.
The DA’s office investigated Coleman-Clark for potential accessory charges related to Gabe’s murder, reviewing evidence gathered by Oakley and Antioch police, as well as evidence presented by the Gabe family’s attorney. However, the DA cited insufficient evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
This decision devastates the Gabe family, who believe Coleman-Clark assisted Jones after the alleged killing. Their attorney, Dara Cashman, pointed to Ring doorbell and ADT security camera footage, along with witness statements, as supporting evidence. Gwyn Gabe, Alexis’s father, expressed disbelief at the DA’s decision, noting that the three-year statute of limitations is imminent, precluding any future criminal prosecution.
The Gabe family plans to hold an annual “Kindness Day” this Sunday in Alexis’s memory, urging the community to perform acts of kindness in her honor. The event aims to transform the anniversary of her death into a day of compassion.
