**Santa Clarita, CA –** Filming on the CBS police drama *S.W.A.T.*, starring Shemar Moore, has been suspended due to the rapidly spreading Hughes fire near Castaic Lake. Just a week after production resumed following delays caused by earlier wildfires, the blaze forced another shutdown on Wednesday.
The Hughes fire, which ignited Wednesday morning, has already consumed 9,400 acres and led to the evacuation of 31,000 residents. A portion of the 5 freeway was also temporarily closed. The proximity of the fire to the show’s Santa Clarita filming location prompted the immediate halt to production. Producers have confirmed that filming will remain suspended at least through Thursday.
