Sat Jan 25 00:05:34 IST 2025: ## Hyderabad Police Inspector Arrested for Bribery

**Hyderabad, January 25, 2025** – A Hyderabad City Police inspector, L. Balu Chowhan, was arrested on Friday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a ₹50,000 bribe. Chowhan, formerly the Station House Officer (SHO) of Shahinayathgunj police station, allegedly demanded ₹1.5 lakh from a complainant to remove his name from a missing person’s case and prevent further harassment. The complainant negotiated the bribe down to ₹50,000. Chowhan has been produced before a special court, and the ACB is conducting further investigations.
