**New Delhi, [Date]** – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that an APAAR ID is no longer a mandatory requirement for registration in the upcoming NEET-UG 2025 exam. This reverses an earlier notification that required candidates to link their Aadhaar with a mobile number and integrate their APAAR ID (previously the Academic Bank of Credits ID). The NTA clarified that aspirants can register using alternative methods, details of which will be outlined in the forthcoming information bulletin.
The NTA’s decision follows previous directives requiring Aadhaar linking and credential updates. While the APAAR ID, designed to digitally store academic records, was initially mandated, the agency has now deemed it unnecessary for NEET-UG 2025 registration.
The NEET-UG 2025 syllabus has also been released on the NTA’s official website. The exam itself will be a single-day, single-shift pen-and-paper examination. Registration details for NEET-UG 2025 will be released soon. The NEET-UG exam is crucial for admission to undergraduate medical programs across India, including prestigious institutions like AIIMS and JIPMER.
