**New Delhi, [Date]** – Amul, India’s largest dairy cooperative, has announced a nationwide price reduction of ₹1 per litre on its one-litre milk packs. The move, effective immediately, aims to incentivize consumers to purchase larger quantities, according to GCMMF Managing Director Jayen Mehta.
In Delhi, for example, Amul Gold will now cost ₹67 per litre (down from ₹68), and Amul Taaza will be ₹55 (down from ₹56). The price reduction applies only to one-litre packs; prices for larger containers remain unchanged.
This announcement follows a strong financial year for GCMMF, which reported an 8% increase in turnover, reaching ₹59,445 crore in 2023-24. The cooperative processed an average of 310 lakh litres of milk daily last fiscal year and expects double-digit revenue growth this year. GCMMF boasts a daily milk procurement of 300 lakh litres from 36 lakh farmers across Gujarat and holds the distinction of being the world’s largest farmer-owned dairy cooperative. It also ranks 8th globally in milk processing capacity. Amul products are currently exported to approximately 50 countries, including the United States, where the brand launched last year.
