Fri Jan 24 03:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru’s Republic Day Flower Show Celebrates Valmiki’s Ramayana

**Bengaluru, January 24, 2025** – The annual Republic Day flower show at Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bengaluru is captivating visitors with its stunning floral tribute to Adikavi Maharshi Valmiki and his epic, the Ramayana. The show, inaugurated on January 17th, features a magnificent 14-foot-wide, 15-foot-tall floral model of Valmiki’s birthplace, an anthill (hutta), reflecting the legend of his birth. The model, meticulously crafted from 5.5 lakh flowers, accurately replicates the color and texture of an anthill.

Another highlight is a 14-foot-wide, 24-foot-tall floral recreation of Valmiki’s ashram and key scenes from the Ramayana, including depictions of Rama, Sita, and the golden deer. The display showcases a diverse array of flowers, including roses, sevanthige (jasmine), and orchids.

Beyond the central Ramayana theme, the show also includes busts of poets who penned their own versions of the epic, including the Kannada poet Kuvempu. An exhibit by the Indo-American Hybrid Seeds Company presents a variety of exotic flowers, offering visitors a chance to see rare and unique blooms.

The flower show, which runs until January 27th, is attracting large crowds. Tickets are available online and at the entrance to Lalbagh.
