**Vagamon, Kerala (January 24, 2025)** – Social entrepreneur Lakshmi Menon is launching “Chai@Vagamon,” a unique cultural initiative offering tourists an immersive experience of the hill station nestled in the Western Ghats. Unlike typical tourist itineraries, Chai@Vagamon focuses on fostering community engagement and creativity through curated experiences.
Menon, known for her Chekutty dolls project, repurposed four historical estate buildings in Vagamon, preventing their demolition and preserving their vintage charm. The three-day event, scheduled for February 7-9, will feature a variety of activities including curated dining experiences with renowned brands like Casaro Creamery and Grasshopper (a Singapore-based plant-food company), art workshops, Ayurveda sessions, and interactions with local artisans and tea pluckers.
Participants can choose from individual sessions ranging from ₹1000 to ₹3000, each lasting at least two hours. Activities include cooking demonstrations, sketching workshops, bamboo crafting, and breakfast walks. Accommodation is not provided, but several options are available in Vagamon, making it suitable for both overnight stays and day trips from nearby towns.
