**Yadgir, Karnataka, January 24, 2025** – A tragic collision between a tractor and a government bus in Raichur district, Karnataka, resulted in the deaths of two young women and injuries to 18 others on Thursday. The accident occurred near Bannigol village, Lingsugur taluk.
The victims, identified as 18-year-old Sridevi and 20-year-old Amaramma (who was four months pregnant), were passengers on the tractor. Sridevi died at the scene, while Amaramma succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Bagalkot. The 18 injured passengers are receiving treatment at hospitals in Lingsugur and Mudgal.
The tractor, carrying passengers to field work, collided with the government bus traveling from Ankalimath to Mudgal. A case has been registered at the Mudgal Police Station. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
