Fri Jan 24 08:00:04 IST 2025: ## Trump Orders Full Release of JFK Assassination Files, Sparking Controversy

**Washington D.C.** – President Donald Trump has ordered the complete declassification and release of all remaining files related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr., ending decades of speculation and fueling further debate. The executive order, signed Thursday at the White House, mandates that the Director of National Intelligence present a plan within 15 days for the release of JFK assassination files and within 45 days for the other two assassinations.

“Everything will be revealed,” Trump declared, adding that many have waited decades for this information. The move comes amidst persistent public doubt surrounding the official findings of the Warren Commission, which concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in JFK’s assassination. A recent Gallup poll revealed that 65% of Americans don’t believe Oswald acted alone, with significant portions suspecting government or CIA involvement.

The order has been met with mixed reactions. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s nominee for Health Secretary and son of Robert F. Kennedy, has previously claimed evidence of CIA involvement in both his father’s and uncle’s deaths. Conversely, Jack Schlossberg, JFK’s grandson, criticized the move, calling it a political maneuver and stating that declassifying the files uses his grandfather’s death as a “political prop.”

While over 99% of the roughly 320,000 documents reviewed since a 1992 law mandating release have already been made public, thousands remain withheld due to national security concerns. Previous administrations have released batches of documents, but this order aims for full transparency. The release of these final files is expected to reignite public debate and potentially shed new light on these pivotal events in American history.
