Fri Jan 24 06:02:36 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Senators Demand Elon Musk Apology Amid Starlink License Delay

**Islamabad, January 24, 2025** – Pakistan’s Senate is demanding an apology from Elon Musk before granting his Starlink satellite internet service a license to operate in the country. The demand stems from Musk’s recent social media posts alleging Pakistani men were responsible for historic rape cases in the UK.

A Senate committee reviewing Starlink’s application heard concerns from several senators regarding Musk’s comments, which were deemed anti-Pakistan propaganda. Committee chair Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan stated that while an apology isn’t a pre-condition for approval, it was a significant part of the discussion. The committee will forward its recommendations to the government.

Musk’s comments relate to a series of high-profile cases in the UK involving the sexual exploitation of underage girls by predominantly South Asian men. His remarks followed a recent social media post by an Indian lawmaker that attributed the crimes specifically to Pakistanis. Musk’s response, “True,” has sparked outrage in Pakistan.

The Starlink application is currently pending approval. While Musk’s business ventures have made him a global icon, his recent foray into political commentary, including an affiliation with newly inaugurated President Donald Trump, adds another dimension to the ongoing controversy. Trump recently appointed Musk to head a new Department of Government Efficiency.
