**New Delhi, January 24, 2025** – The Delhi High Court is set to deliver its verdict on Friday regarding a petition filed by several BJP MLAs demanding that 14 CAG reports, scrutinizing Delhi government policies, be presented to the State Assembly.

The petition, filed last year by opposition leader Vijender Gupta and other BJP MLAs, urged the Speaker to convene a special Assembly session for this purpose. However, the Speaker’s counsel and the Delhi government opposed the petition, arguing that with Assembly elections only two weeks away, tabling the reports at this stage serves no urgent purpose. The Assembly secretariat further contended that presenting the reports before the current Assembly’s term ends in February would be futile.

During a hearing on January 13th, the court expressed concern over the government’s delay in presenting the reports, stating that this inaction raises questions about its integrity. The court reserved its judgment on January 16th after hearing arguments from all parties. The court’s decision will determine whether the Delhi government will be compelled to table these crucial reports before the upcoming elections.
