Fri Jan 24 15:27:46 IST 2025: ## Bihar PSC Releases Controversial Exam Results Amidst Ongoing Legal Challenge

PATNA, INDIA – The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the results of its 70th Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination, despite ongoing legal challenges and protests. Of the 328,990 candidates who sat for the exam, 21,581 have been declared successful. The results are available on the BPSC’s official website.

The exam, held on December 13th, 2024, for 2,031 posts including 200 SDM and 136 DSP positions, was marred by controversy. Allegations of irregularities, specifically at the Bapu Exam Centre in Patna where exam papers were reportedly distributed late and found to be pre-opened, led to widespread protests and demands for the exam’s cancellation. Following the disturbances, the BPSC re-conducted the exam at the Bapu Centre on January 4th.

Despite the release of results, the Patna High Court is yet to issue its verdict on January 31st regarding petitions filed by candidates demanding the exam be cancelled and re-conducted. The court had sought a response from the Bihar government and the BPSC, which was submitted by the January 30th deadline. While the court did not impose a stay on the release of results, the legal challenge continues. The BPSC is now preparing for the main examination.
