**KOLLAM, January 24, 2025** – The upcoming Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] Kerala State conference, scheduled for March 6-9 in Kollam, will include a range of cultural events, competitions, seminars, and exhibitions. A highlight of the pre-conference activities is an All-India Kabaddi Tournament taking place on January 25th and 26th at the Uday Institute of Kabaddi in Paripally.
The tournament boasts a first prize of ₹1 lakh and a second prize of ₹50,000, attracting teams from across India, including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, as well as various districts within Kerala. Both men’s and women’s teams will compete. Education Minister V. Sivankutty will inaugurate the tournament, while CPI(M) district secretary S. Sudevan will preside over the closing ceremony and prize distribution. Hundreds of participants also took part in a walkathon earlier this week in Kollam as part of the conference preparations. The state conference itself promises a diverse program of activities.
