Davis’s comments echo those of teammate LeBron James, who has also expressed a desire for the franchise to make impactful moves before the February 6th trade deadline. The Lakers currently hold a precarious position in the Western Conference standings, just one game ahead of the seventh-place Sacramento Kings. James recently highlighted the team’s lack of margin for error, stating after a recent loss to the Clippers that they “have to play perfect basketball.”

Davis pointed to the 2020 championship team as a model, highlighting the importance of size and his preferred role at power forward.
