Fri Jan 24 14:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Bollywood Actress Mamta Kulkarni Becomes Mahamandaleshwar at Kumbh Mela
**Prayagraj, India** – Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni has embarked on a new spiritual journey, assuming the title of Mahamandaleshwar in the Kinnar Akhada at the ongoing Kumbh Mela. The announcement was made Friday morning by Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Dr. Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi. Kulkarni, who arrived at the Kumbh Mela on Thursday, performed the ritualistic Sangam Snan (holy bath) and Pind Daan (ancestral rites) before the ceremony. She will now be known as Yamai Mamta Nand Giri.
Kulkarni attributed her decision to become a Mahamandaleshwar to divine intervention, stating it was a command from Goddess Kali. She revealed she had been practicing asceticism since 2000 and chose Dr. Tripathi as her guru. She underwent a rigorous examination process spanning her 23 years of spiritual practices before being granted the title.
Addressing concerns about potential backlash from fans who may want her to return to Bollywood, Kulkarni stated that she will not be returning to acting. She emphasized the supreme power of Goddess Kali and Mahakal, stating that nothing happens without their will.
A Kinnar Akhada Sadhvi present at the ceremony clarified that the Akhada welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and genders, emphasizing their belief in the inherent divinity within everyone, regardless of profession. Rumors surrounding Kulkarni’s past and alleged underworld connections were dismissed as unfounded, with the Sadhvi stating that Kulkarni is a dedicated citizen of India and committed to promoting Sanatan Dharma.
