**Prayagraj, India** – Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni has embraced renunciation, taking sanyas (religious asceticism) at the ongoing Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. She has been initiated into the Kinnar Akhada (a monastic order for transgender individuals) and bestowed the title of Mahamandaleshwar, a high spiritual rank. Kulkarni, who announced her decision via a prior video message, will now be known as a Sadhvi (female ascetic) within the Akhada. This news comes amidst other Kumbh Mela updates, including discussions on loudspeaker usage at religious sites and extensive transportation arrangements for the anticipated crowds during Mauni Amavasya.
