**NEW DELHI:** The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released an important notice regarding the upcoming Group D recruitment, clarifying the age limit and the exact number of vacancies. The online application process will commence on January 23, 2025, and conclude on February 22, 2025.
A total of 32,438 vacancies have been announced for various Group D (Level-1) positions. This clarifies earlier estimates of approximately 32,000 positions. The age limit will be calculated from January 1, 2025, correcting a previous announcement that stated July 1, 2025, as the reference date.
The recruitment process will be conducted via a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Candidates need only a 10th-pass qualification to apply; the previously mandated ITI diploma for technical departments has been removed. Positions include Assistant (S&T), Assistant (Workshop), Assistant Bridge, and various other assistant roles within different departments.
A three-year age relaxation, applicable only once, has been extended to candidates due to the COVID-19 pandemic, raising the upper age limit to 36 years. The application fee is ₹500 for General/OBC candidates (₹400 refundable after appearing for the CBT) and ₹250 for SC/ST/EBC/women/transgender candidates (fully refundable after appearing for the CBT).
