**Vellore, India (January 23, 2025)** – The Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore inaugurated a new, state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory on Wednesday. This seventh catheterization lab under the Department of Cardiology will primarily serve patients at CMC’s Vellore Town campus requiring emergency cardiac care.
CMC Director Vikram Mathews, who opened the facility, reiterated the institution’s commitment to serving the people of Vellore. He highlighted CMC’s long history of providing cardiac catheterization services, dating back to the 1980s, and noted the significant advancements made in interventional cardiology, treating conditions such as heart attacks, valvular heart disease, aortic aneurysms, pediatric cardiology issues, and cardiac rhythm disorders.
