Davos, Switzerland – Andhra Pradesh’s Minister Nara Lokesh is continuing his delegation’s visit to the World Economic Forum in Davos, actively seeking foreign investment. During his trip, Lokesh met with Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman of Apollo Tyres, urging the company to establish a manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh. The Minister also requested the creation of an R&D center to boost the state’s knowledge economy, investment in rubber plantations and processing infrastructure, and collaboration with local educational institutions for skill development programs. Kanwar responded that he would discuss the proposals with his executives.
Lokesh also met with Christella, Canton of Vaud State Councillor, seeking collaboration with Swiss companies in technology and machinery manufacturing for hardware, electronics, railway components, and pharmaceuticals. He requested support in establishing R&D hubs and university partnerships for the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, and proposed a Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) to connect local manufacturers with European markets. Christella expressed the Canton’s willingness to support Swiss companies investing in key sectors within Andhra Pradesh.
