**Davos, Switzerland, January 23, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh is actively pursuing international investment opportunities at the World Economic Forum in Davos. As part of a delegation led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Minister Lokesh has been holding a series of meetings with leading global companies.
Minister Lokesh met with the Canton of Vaud State Councillor, Christella, to discuss potential collaborations with Swiss companies in various sectors. These include technological textiles, machinery manufacturing, hardware, electronics, railway and railway component manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medical device manufacturing, R&D hubs, and university partnerships. He also sought assistance in connecting local manufacturers to European markets through Trade and Economic Partnership Agreements (TEPAs). Further collaborations were explored in engineering, health sciences, and renewable energy research. Councillor Christella assured the Minister of support for Swiss investments in key Andhra Pradesh sectors.
In other meetings, Minister Lokesh met with Envision CEO Lee Jung, discussing the state’s ambitious Green Hydrogen project aiming for ₹10 lakh crore investment and 7.5 lakh jobs by 2030. He highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, which encourages renewable energy component manufacturing. He urged Envision to consider establishing a renewable energy equipment manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh, taking advantage of the state’s favorable investment climate. Envision’s CEO indicated the proposal would be discussed by their board of directors.
Furthermore, Minister Lokesh met with Apollo Tyres Vice Chairman Neeraj Kanwar to explore the possibility of establishing a tire manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh. He proposed the creation of an R&D center to foster tire technology innovation and contribute to the state’s knowledge economy. He also emphasized the need for skill development programs in collaboration with local educational institutions to create a skilled workforce for tire manufacturing and maintenance. Apollo Tyres Vice Chairman indicated that the proposals would be reviewed by the company’s executives. The company currently operates in over 100 countries with a turnover of $2.3 billion.
Minister Lokesh’s efforts in Davos underscore the Andhra Pradesh government’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and fostering economic growth. The meetings represent significant steps toward achieving these goals.
