**Hyderabad, Telangana, January 23, 2025** – A four-member committee has been formed by the Telangana Health Department to investigate a kidney transplant racket uncovered at Alaknanda Hospital in Saroor Nagar. The scandal involves illegal organ trafficking, with two donors allegedly receiving ₹4 lakh each for their kidneys while recipients paid ₹50 lakh for the transplants.
Preliminary investigations indicate the recipients were from Karnataka and the donors from Tamil Nadu. The surgeries, performed on January 16th by doctors from outside the state, were facilitated by undisclosed agents.
The investigative committee comprises experts from various medical fields and has already begun its inquiry, visiting the hospital and gathering information from local health officials. Dr. N.
