Thu Jan 23 09:40:04 UTC 2025: ## Israeli Forces Kill Two Palestinian Militants Involved in Deadly Bus Attack
**JERUSALEM, January 23, 2025** – Israeli forces have killed two Palestinian militants responsible for a deadly bus attack in the West Bank earlier this month, the Israeli military announced Thursday. Mohammed Nazzal and Katiba al-Shalabi, identified as operatives with the Islamic Jihad militant group, were killed during an overnight operation in the West Bank village of Burqin following an exchange of fire with Israeli troops. One Israeli soldier sustained moderate injuries.
Hamas, which claimed the two men as members of its armed wing and praised the January 6th bus attack, is an ally of Islamic Jihad. That attack resulted in the deaths of three Israelis and injuries to six others.
Separately, Al Jazeera reported that Palestinian Authority forces arrested one of its reporters, Mohammed al-Atrash, after preventing him from covering an Israeli military operation in Jenin. This comes after both Israel and the Palestinian Authority banned Al Jazeera last year, accusing the network of bias and alleging some reporters are militants. Al Jazeera denies these accusations. The Palestinian Authority, which governs parts of the West Bank and cooperates with Israel on security, has faced criticism for its actions.
