**TIRUPATI, January 23, 2025** – In a unique initiative to promote road safety, Tirupati police and transport officials surprised helmet-wearing motorcyclists with roses during the ongoing 36th Road Safety Month. The gesture, part of a larger awareness campaign, aimed to encourage adherence to traffic rules.

The campaign, which included a walkathon participated in by students from Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Science and Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, saw officials initially stopping motorists to check for compliance. While some bikers initially showed apprehension at being stopped, they were relieved and pleased to receive roses and praise for wearing helmets.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) J. Venkat Rao urged the public to refrain from using mobile phones while riding, emphasizing the importance of safe driving practices. Regional Transport Officer K. Murali Mohan echoed this sentiment, highlighting the shared responsibility of citizens and the government in ensuring road safety.
