Thu Jan 23 03:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Aims to Lead in Green Hydrogen and AI, Says CM Naidu at Davos
**Davos, Switzerland:** Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced ambitious plans for his state to become a global leader in green hydrogen production and artificial intelligence (AI) development, during an interview at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. Naidu, participating in the “India Story” initiative, highlighted the state’s commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technologies for sustainable growth.
Naidu emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s focus on green hydrogen, a clean energy source emitting only water vapor. While acknowledging the current high cost of green hydrogen globally, he stressed that the urgency of addressing climate change necessitates investment in this sector. He cited the NTPC’s Rs 1.87 lakh crore green hydrogen project in Visakhapatnam and Greenco’s planned green ammonia production as evidence of the state’s progress. Naidu expressed confidence that the cost of green hydrogen will become more viable as the technology matures.
The Chief Minister also revealed plans to establish Andhra Pradesh as a leader in AI, leveraging access to historical and real-time data for efficient service delivery to citizens. He highlighted the transformative potential of AI in various sectors, particularly emphasizing the state’s initiative to develop a “drone city” for enhanced mechanization in areas like policing, healthcare, and disaster relief. Naidu proposed a model where Andhra Pradesh develops proof-of-concept drone applications, which can then be scaled up by manufacturers.
Naidu also addressed the ongoing development of Amaravati, a new city envisioned as a model of technological advancement and environmental sustainability. He acknowledged challenges following the state’s bifurcation but expressed confidence in the city’s progress, alongside the Polavaram project, with the support of the central government. His participation at Davos underscores India’s broader aim to attract global investment and establish itself as a leader in sustainable development and technological innovation.
