**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, January 23, 2025** – Police in Thiruvananthapuram are investigating the suspected double suicide of a couple whose bodies were discovered in the Neyyar River on Thursday. Snehadev and Sreekala, residents of Muttada, were found with their hands bound by a belt.
Authorities recovered a four-page suicide note from the couple’s car, parked near a nearby temple. The note reportedly details the couple’s intense grief following the death of their 22-year-old son, a law student, in February 2024. The note also indicates that the couple had transferred their assets to a trust. Other items found at the scene included bank passbooks and two pairs of sandals near the riverbank.
The bodies have been sent to the Government Medical College Hospital mortuary, and the couple’s relatives have been notified. Police are treating the deaths as a suspected double suicide.
