**GUWAHATI, INDIA (January 23, 2025)** – The Assam Assembly’s budget session will commence on February 17th and conclude on March 25th, with a unique twist. For the first time, the inaugural day will be held in Kokrajhar, before moving to the Assam Assembly complex in Guwahati on February 19th. Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya will deliver the opening address in Kokrajhar.
The state budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year will be presented by Finance Minister Ajanta Neog on March 10th. A variety of bills, reports, and resolutions are expected to be tabled during the session. The announcement was made on Thursday by an Assam government official.
