Wed Jan 22 10:39:00 UTC 2025: ## UP CM Yogi Adityanath Takes Holy Dip at Maha Kumbh, Announces Major Development Projects

**Prayagraj, January 22, 2025** – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the Maha Kumbh festivities today, taking a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam along with Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and other cabinet ministers. The event, described by Maurya as an inexpressible spiritual experience, followed a cabinet meeting where significant development initiatives were approved.

Before the sacred immersion, the CM and his ministers fed migratory birds. The cabinet meeting yielded a series of announcements, including the establishment of three new medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat; the creation of 62 Industrial Training Institutes and five innovation centers; and the renewal of the Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defence employment policy with new investment incentives.

Addressing the economic development of the state, CM Adityanath announced the issuance of municipal corporation bonds for Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra, following the success of similar initiatives in Lucknow and Ghaziabad. A new Prayagraj-Chitrakoot development region, modeled after Lucknow’s development, was also announced.

Infrastructure improvements were highlighted with the expansion plans for the Ganga Expressway, extending its reach from Prayagraj to Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Kashi, Chandauli, and connecting to the Purvanchal Expressway in Ghazipur. This will enhance connectivity to Sonbhadra and the national highway system. The announcements solidify the state government’s commitment to both spiritual and infrastructural advancement.
