**New Delhi, January 22, 2025** – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has opened the registration window for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2025. Aspiring civil servants can now apply for the exam, with the application period closing on February 11, 2025.

The preliminary exam is scheduled for May 25, 2025, and will consist of two objective-type papers. Approximately 979 vacancies are expected to be filled this year, including 38 reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities. The application process requires candidates to first register on the One-Time Registration (OTR) portal.
