Wed Jan 22 15:27:13 UTC 2025: ## Royal Enfield Launches Upgraded Scram 440 in India

**NEW DELHI** – Royal Enfield has launched the Scram 440 motorcycle in India, priced starting at ₹2.08 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike, unveiled at the 2024 Motoverse festival, boasts a significant mechanical upgrade over its predecessor, the Scram 411, while maintaining a similar aesthetic design.

The key upgrade is a more powerful 443cc single-cylinder engine, producing 25.4hp and 34Nm of torque – improvements over the Scram 411’s 24.3hp and 32Nm. The engine is now paired with a six-speed gearbox, replacing the older five-speed unit, resulting in reduced noise and vibration, according to Royal Enfield.

Other features include a refined SOHC valvetrain system, 200mm ground clearance, and switchable ABS, a feature absent in the Scram 411. The bike retains the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, though the top-of-the-line “Force” variant offers alloy wheels and tubeless tires. The Scram 440 is available in two variants (Trail and Force) and five color options. The weight has increased slightly to 197kg (with a full tank).

The price difference between the Scram 440 and its predecessor is minimal, ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹3,000. The Trail variant, with spoked wheels, starts at ₹2.08 lakh, while the Force variant with alloy wheels is priced at ₹2.15 lakh.
