Wed Jan 22 03:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Panthers Blank Ducks 3-0, Knight Shines in Shutout Victory

**Sunrise, FL** – Spencer Knight stopped 34 shots, earning his second shutout of the season and leading the Florida Panthers to a 3-0 victory over the Anaheim Ducks Saturday night. The win kicks off a home-and-home series between the two teams.

Jesper Boqvist, Anton Lundell, and Gustav Forsling provided the offense for the Panthers. Boqvist opened the scoring with his 11th goal of the season midway through the second period, setting a new career high. Lundell added another in the third, and Forsling sealed the victory with an empty-net goal.

Despite John Gibson’s strong performance in the Ducks net (42 saves), Anaheim struggled to find the back of the net, extending their losing streak to three games and finishing their six-game road trip with a disappointing 1-4-1 record. The Ducks, averaging a league-worst 2.42 goals per game, suffered their third shutout of the trip.

The game saw a significant incident in the first period when Panthers forward Sam Reinhart received a game misconduct for kneeing Ducks player Isac Lundestrom, who required assistance leaving the ice. Neither team managed to capitalize on their power-play opportunities.

Knight’s performance marked only his fifth career shutout. He stepped in after Sergei Bobrovsky was pulled in Thursday’s loss to Detroit. The Panthers and Ducks will face off again on Tuesday in Anaheim.
