Wed Jan 22 03:07:53 UTC 2025: ## BJP Accuses Kejriwal of Misusing Punjab Resources, Chinese Cameras in Delhi Election Campaign

**NEW DELHI** – With the Delhi Assembly elections fast approaching (February 5th), a heated exchange has erupted between the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). BJP candidate Parvesh Verma accused AAP chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of misusing Punjab government resources, including vehicles and personnel, in the New Delhi constituency. Verma claims thousands of Punjab-registered vehicles are being used to transport campaign materials, and that Punjab government employees are posing as AAP workers. He further alleged that the AAP is installing Chinese-made CCTV cameras in slums, raising security concerns. Verma called on the Election Commission to investigate the alleged misuse of resources.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann strongly refuted the accusations, calling Verma’s statements “dangerous, worrisome, and insulting to Punjabis.” Mann argued that vehicles registered in any state can travel freely across India and that the allegations imply Punjabis pose a security threat. He demanded an apology from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, highlighting the alleged presence of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas in Delhi as a more pressing security concern. The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5th, with results to be announced on February 8th. The accusations are likely to further intensify the already contentious election campaign.
