Wed Jan 22 19:47:11 IST 2025: ## Congress Slams ED’s Statement on Siddaramaiah, Alleges Bias

**Mysuru, January 22, 2025** – The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of bias and malicious intent in its recent press statement regarding Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s alleged involvement in a Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam.

KPCC spokesperson M. Lakshmana held a press conference in Mysuru on Wednesday, questioning the ED’s release of a statement before the conclusion of its investigation. He criticized the agency for issuing a press release stating that 142 immovable properties worth ₹300 crore had been attached, while noting that 14 sites allotted to the Chief Minister’s wife as compensation were not among those seized. These sites, Lakshmana clarified, had already been returned to the MUDA.

Lakshmana alleged that the ED’s statement was intended to damage Siddaramaiah’s reputation and influence the courts. He further suggested the statement was a tactic to deflect attention from investigations into alleged scams during the BJP’s tenure in the state, and to overshadow internal BJP conflicts. He has filed a complaint with President Droupadi Murmu regarding the ED’s conduct, claiming the agency has lost its sanctity and operates at the behest of the BJP and RSS.
