**Hyderabad, January 22, 2025** – Former Minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao has accused the Telangana government of failing to deliver on its welfare promises, citing instances of farmers struggling to receive loan waivers and alleging manipulation in Gram Sabha applications.
Speaking at a Gram Sabha in Gadicherlapalli, Rao criticized the government for forcing reapplications for welfare schemes, even after initial submissions through public governance programs like MeeSeva. This, he claimed, leads to unnecessary duplication and wastes public resources. He highlighted the cases of several farmers – Aakula Raju (₹1.35 lakh loan pending), Kusumba Nagesh (₹1 lakh loan pending), Utha Balayya (paid ₹13,000 but still awaiting waiver), and Marige Sudhakar (paid ₹25,000, still awaiting waiver) – who are yet to receive loan waivers despite fulfilling requirements.
Rao expressed deep concern over the recent suicides of three farmers, attributing them to the government’s failure to provide promised financial assistance. He demanded the immediate release of ₹15,000 under the Rythu Bandhu scheme for both Kharif and Rabi seasons. He further criticized the government for failing to construct the promised 5 lakh houses in a year.
Rao also accused the government of neglecting to revise income limits for welfare schemes, keeping them at levels set in 2014, making fewer families eligible for assistance. He directly criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for what he termed as “betrayals” after election promises of prosperity.
