**New Delhi, January 23, 2025** – The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) reported a significant increase in new memberships during November 2024, according to the Union Labour Ministry. The organization enrolled approximately 8.74 lakh new members, an 18.8% rise compared to November 2023. This marks a 16.58% increase from the previous month (October 2024).

The ministry attributed this surge to increased employment opportunities, greater awareness of employee benefits, and the EPFO’s outreach programs. The net addition of members reached 14.63 lakh, a 9.07% increase over October 2024 and a 4.88% increase compared to November 2023.

A notable trend was the high number of young members (18-25 years old) joining the EPFO. This age group accounted for 4.81 lakh new members, representing 54.97% of the total new members. This signifies a 9.56% increase from October 2024 and a 13.99% increase compared to November 2023.

Furthermore, approximately 14.39 lakh members who had previously exited rejoined the EPFO in November 2024, reflecting an 11.47% increase compared to October 2024 and a substantial 34.75% year-on-year growth.

Women also contributed significantly, with around 2.4 lakh new female members joining – a 14.94% increase over October 2024 and a 23.62% year-on-year increase. The net addition of female members reached approximately 3.13 lakh.

States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Gujarat, Delhi, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh individually accounted for over 5% of the total net member additions during November 2024.
