**Dharmapuri, January 22, 2025** – District Collector K. Shanthi conducted a comprehensive inspection of Irular colonies in Dharmapuri district on Wednesday, addressing infrastructure concerns and community demands. The Collector oversaw the handover of newly constructed homes to 13 Irular families in Anna Nagar, urging residents to utilize local Anganwadi and government school facilities.
Ms. Shanthi inspected the quality of housing provided by the Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department and ensured water connectivity under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Further improvements, including the construction of toilets and a common burial ground, were ordered.
During visits to West Emanur and Athu Mettur, the Collector received requests for improved sanitation, road infrastructure, water access, and assistance for a disabled student. She assured residents that these requests would be processed swiftly.
The Collector also reviewed educational performance at the Emanur Panchayat Union Middle School, emphasizing the importance of improved learning outcomes in core subjects. Finally, Ms. Shanthi visited Singapuram, instructing officials to organize camps to facilitate Aadhaar and other essential document acquisition, and to address outstanding infrastructure needs.
