DAVOS, SWITZERLAND – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu declared the state’s commitment to India’s burgeoning global economic dominance at the World Economic Forum. Naidu emphasized India’s projected status as the world’s leading contributor to incremental GDP growth by 2027 and its anticipated position as the number one or two global economy by 2047. He highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s role in this growth, emphasizing the state’s technological advantages, demographic dividend, and entrepreneurial spirit.
This vision was further solidified by the announcement of a new CII Centre for Global Leadership on Competitiveness (GLC) in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The center, a collaborative effort between the CII and the state government, will focus on fostering value-based leadership, enhancing corporate governance, and developing global leadership competencies. A letter of intent was signed between CII and IMD Business School, Switzerland, signifying the GLC’s international collaboration.
The CII also showcased the “Swarna Andhra Pradesh” plan, a comprehensive strategy to drive economic growth and job creation through a public-private partnership model. Discussions also centered on India’s green industrialization, with Naidu reaffirming Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to become a hub for green energy and green hydrogen. Industry leaders stressed the vital role of green energy in achieving India’s ambitious growth targets, emphasizing the need to reduce energy imports and transition to sustainable practices. The event featured participation from prominent business leaders across various sectors.
