Tue Jan 21 19:59:20 UTC 2025: ## Joint Operation Nets Over 86kg of Ganja at Ernakulam Railway Station
**KOCHI, January 22, 2025** – A joint operation by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Railway Police, and the Excise department at Ernakulam South railway station resulted in the seizure of over 86 kg of suspected ganja and the arrest of three individuals on Tuesday. The contraband, estimated to be worth ₹43.11 lakh, was discovered in two separate incidents.
In the first instance, 72.84 kg of ganja, valued at approximately ₹36.42 lakh, was found concealed in eight bags carried by Pappu Kumar (33) from Bihar and Mohammad Sahid (18) from Uttar Pradesh. The duo were apprehended on the sixth platform.
A second arrest led to the seizure of 13.39 kg of ganja, worth ₹6.69 lakh, from Mandi Biswas (24) of West Bengal on the first platform. All three individuals are currently in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
