MANGALURU, January 22, 2025 – A spectacular four-day horticultural and floricultural exhibition is set to open tomorrow at Kadri Park in Mangaluru. Organized by the Department of Horticulture, Dakshina Kannada district administration, and Kadri Park Abhivrudhi Samiti, the exhibition will celebrate Republic Day with a dazzling display of flowers and agricultural produce.
A highlight of the exhibition will be a 22-foot-tall Eiffel Tower constructed entirely of flowers. Other eye-catching features include models of Kambala buffaloes, fishermen, and Yakshagana artistes crafted from millets and ornamental leaves. Visitors can also enjoy numerous selfie zones featuring flower-based models of photo frames, mushrooms, cannonballs, honeybees, cartoon characters, and swans.
The exhibition will feature nearly 100 stalls showcasing the work of progressive farmers, farmer producer companies (FPOs), and self-help groups. Products on display will range from honey from the ‘Jhenkara’ brand to terrace gardening supplies, grow bags, cocopeat, vermicompost, and desi vegetable and flower seeds. Saplings and seeds of various vegetables, flowers, and fruits will also be available for purchase.
The exhibition will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Entry fees are ₹30 for adults and ₹20 for children, with free admission for schoolchildren in uniform accompanied by teachers. The Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer, K. Anandh, expressed confidence in the success of the event.
