**New Delhi, January 21, 2025** – The BJP launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi on Monday, accusing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of neglecting thousands of government-constructed flats meant for the poor. BJP MP Yogender Chandoliya and Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva visited dilapidated flats in Bawana’s JJ clusters, highlighting collapsed walls, overgrown vegetation, and overall disrepair.
Sachdeva blamed Kejriwal’s “obstinacy and political rivalry,” alleging that 50,000 flats remain unallocated because the CM sought to claim credit for a Central government project. He claimed ₹12,000 crore was allocated for the construction of these flats for sanitation workers and the poor.
The AAP countered that the flats are vacant because the BJP wants to allocate them to Central government employees, while the Delhi government insists they should go to the intended jhuggi dwellers. The party noted a pending High Court case regarding the matter.
The BJP vowed to repair the flats and allot them to their “rightful owners” should they win the next Delhi elections. The incident highlights a continuing political feud over housing provision in the capital.
