TIRUMALA, January 21, 2025 – The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has added masala vada to the menu of its famed Annaprasadam (sacred food offering) at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple. For years, the Annaprasadam has included rice, curry, coconut chutney, sweet pongal, sambar, rasam, and buttermilk. Following a November 18, 2024, TTD board resolution to expand the menu, a trial run of approximately 5,000 onion and garlic-free masala vadas was conducted on Monday. The positive response from devotees has led the TTD to extend the trial for another four days, with plans to include the vada in both the morning and evening Annaprasadam offerings by Rathasapthami. Officials are also exploring alternative options for the menu beyond the masala vada.
