**Hyderabad, January 21, 2024** – The Telangana government is gearing up to launch four major welfare schemes on Republic Day, January 26th. The schemes include Rythu Bharosa (farmer support), Indira Amma Athmiya Bharosa (women’s welfare), Indira Amma housing distribution, and the issuance of new ration cards.
Deputy Chief Minister Mahabubha Reddy clarified the implementation process, addressing public concerns. He announced that beneficiary lists will be publicly displayed at gram sabhas (village meetings) allowing for community verification and immediate inclusion of any eligible individuals who may have been missed. He emphasized that the selection process will be transparent and unbiased, urging citizens to ignore any misinformation spread by the opposition. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy added that approximately 40 lakh new ration cards will be issued out of a total of 90 lakh in the state, with the distribution commencing on January 26th and continuing thereafter. The new ration cards will allow access to subsidized rice. Applications were collected through various channels including Kula Ganana (caste census), Praja Palana (public governance), Praja Vaani (public grievance redressal), and Mee Seva (online service portal).
The government urges eligible beneficiaries to attend their respective gram sabhas within the next five days (before January 26th) to verify their inclusion in the beneficiary lists. Those whose names are missing can present necessary documentation to the gram sabha officials for immediate inclusion. The final lists will be published on January 26th.
