Tue Jan 21 01:16:16 IST 2025: ## Bangladeshi National Detained in Kerala for Illegal Stay
**KOCHI, Kerala – January 21, 2025** – Angamaly police detained a 29-year-old Bangladeshi national, Hossain Belor, on Monday for overstaying his visa. Belor, from Jessore, Bangladesh, was apprehended at his Angamaly lodging by a police team led by District Police Chief (Ernakulam Rural) Vaibhav Saxena. Authorities seized an expired passport from him.
Belor reportedly entered India through the Bangladesh-India border at Shalimar three months ago, traveling by train to Aluva before settling in Angamaly. He worked as a casual laborer in the construction sector. Police revealed that he had previously visited India twice and illegally obtained two Aadhaar cards through an agent for ₹5,000, using them to remain in the country.
This arrest follows the detention of a Bangladeshi couple last week in Perumbavur. The couple, who allegedly crossed the border and traveled through several states before reaching Kerala, were found in possession of fake Aadhaar and PAN cards. The investigation into that case led to Belor’s arrest. Mr. Saxena is currently interrogating Belor.
