**Hyderabad, Telangana, January 21, 2025** – Telangana’s In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced today that applications for new ration cards and the addition of family members to existing cards will continue to be accepted at ward offices. Minister Prabhakar, who made the announcement following a review meeting with GHMC officials, instructed authorities to process applications received during previous public grievance redressal programs.
The meeting, which also included Deputy Mayor Srilatha Reddy, focused on the progress of the Indira Awaas Yojana (Indiramma housing scheme) and ration card distribution. Minister Prabhakar emphasized the government’s commitment to providing housing to all eligible individuals, regardless of land ownership, and ensuring every poor family receives a ration card. He highlighted that the application process for ration cards is ongoing and directed officials to raise public awareness regarding this.
The review meeting was attended by GHMC Commissioner Ilambaridi, Hyderabad Collector Anudeep Durishetty, and additional zonal commissioners. The minister reiterated the government’s dedication to welfare schemes and ensuring their effective implementation.
