**NEW DELHI, January 20, 2025** – Gold prices experienced a modest decline in India today, with both 24-carat and 22-carat gold falling by ₹10 per gram. This represents a weekly decrease of 1.47% for 24-carat gold and a monthly decline of 4.7%. Silver also saw a drop of ₹100 per kg.

As of today, the price of 24-carat gold stands at ₹8127.3 per gram, while 22-carat gold is priced at ₹7451.3 per gram. Silver is currently trading at ₹99500.0 per kg.

Prices varied slightly across major Indian cities. In Delhi, 10 grams of 24-carat gold cost ₹81273.0, compared to ₹81453.0 yesterday and ₹80253.0 a week ago. Similar trends were observed in Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, and Amritsar, with minor variations in prices.

Silver prices also showed regional differences, with Delhi reporting ₹99500.0/kg, Jaipur at ₹99900.0/kg, Lucknow at ₹100400.0/kg, Chandigarh at ₹98900.0/kg, and Patna at ₹99600.0/kg. Yesterday’s and last week’s silver prices for each city also showed similar decreases.

Experts attribute these price fluctuations to a complex interplay of global and local factors, including international demand, currency exchange rates, interest rates, government policies, and global events.
